Florence Anastasia
Biography
Florence grew up in Nottinghamshire and is now based in East London.
Investigating ecological themes, her work derives from natural forms using fantasy and gothic imagery to draw parallels with current world issues. She has worked with interactive objects, paintings, photography and poetry often using cardboard, recycled paper or repurposed materials.
Florence has a BA in Contemporary Theatre and Performance at Wimbledon College of Arts and an MA in Performance Design and Practice at Central Saint Martins.
Her MA graduate work was shortlisted for the Global Graduate Showcase in 2025.

Artist Statement
My art is centered around the mystical words within ecology and discovering what we can learn from them. I explore the benefits of living mindfully alongside nature determining how mental health and environment are linked.
I believe perfectionism in art should be challenged, my work is layered and messy. I enjoy making pieces that can be immersive to encourage interaction, create reflection and challenge view points. I draw on fantasy to parallel reality and incorporate comedic moments to create relatability.
